Hi
I've installed the R70 Smart Console with all the packages.
I've also installed R65 and R55,

The problem I'm experiencing is that my Win XP SP2 laptop do not open the R70 guis, but R65 and R55 yes...

I tried to start using the dos command

"D:\Programmi\CheckPoint\SmartConsole\R70\PROGRAM>fwpolicy"

but I get a Checkpoint Smartdashboard error, I can't write a log as well using the fwpolicy -d -o options...

Does anybody have an idea where I can have look Huh

Tks a lot
Ric

Hi,

Does it give an error when you try to open the Dashboard? Is it in demo mode or connecting to a real system?

I've installed the GUI on several systems already and didn't have a problem. Can you start any of the other programs (tracker, monitor, ...)?

Have you tried downloading the installer again and removing/reinstalling the applications? My guess is something went wrong in the registry. You can try to run cpclean to remove everything Check Point related from the pc and then reinstall the Dashboards.

I already removed all the Gui working (r65 and r55), I removed the r70 from d: and installed it in c: but nothing changed.
I downloaded the installer from my support and it's exactly the same I already had.

I did'n try the cpclean... where can I download it ?

Tks

You can download it on the Check Point site :

I run the cpclean but nothing changed...

Is there a way to see a log of why the Gui do not start ?

I can see only log of the installation...

the only way I know is fwpolicy -d -o file.txt

file.txt will then be created in the data folder.

Maybe you can also check teh windows event viewer for a clue.

I already did both, no file is created using from dos the fwpolicy command (I get the same error but no file is created).
Nothing on the win event viewer is written...

I really do not understand!

I think your best bet is to create a ticket through your partner. Do you have any other system to install the console on?

I did it, at the moment they asked me to uninstall the console from d: and install to c: and send them the log installation...

The main problem is during the oncall service, I need the console on my laptop...

The other thing is that if I install the R65 or R55 I do not experience any kind of problem...

We'll see...

Have they been able to figure out yet what's wrong with the installation?
